Chafford Hundred Scouts are now a little over 15 years, which makes us quite a new group. Like all scout groups we are open to both boys and girls. Our group runs the three very popular and busy sections, more information about them and what they do is below. Feel free to look at the members, calendar or gallery pages to get a taste of what we do.

As we are a popular group we always welcome any adult help, If you have got some time to spare and want to help out in the group speak to a leader through the submit details form right.

how it works

Our group is split into three sections divided by age, they are: beavers (6-8yrs), cubs (8-10yrs) and scouts (10-14yrs).

All sections are open to both boys and girls and have a good mix of each.

Each section meets every week (except school holidays) at the Beacon Centre, Drake Road (near Tesco Express). On top of weekly meetings we arrange loads of events and activities at weekends.

We charge £15 each school half term to pay for equipment and rent, all leaders are volunteers and give up their time each week for free.

what we do

As you get older and move up the sections the adventure gets bigger, the challenges become greater and sleepovers grow into a week away with 1000's of other scouts. What each section gets up to is below.

  • Beavers is where the adventure begins. Every week we play all loads of games, make all sorts of things and at the weekends we sometimes go on trips, sleepovers or take part in making competitions, quizs or sports days against other groups.

  • Cubs, the next step of the adventure. Here the games get harder and you have more independence. You get to go on your first camps away in tents, take part in competitions throughout the year and sometimes get the chance to go on a week long adventure holiday in the summer.

  • At Scouts, expect to get up to all sorts every week as we all get together and decide what we want to do ourselves. On top of the weekly meetings we go on trips to places like Quasar, have lots of competitions throughout the year such as the district hike or swimming event. Pretty much every year we also invite the scouts along to massive jamborees with 1000's of other scouts where you can take part in adventurous activities all week long.

These are just a taste of what we get up to, have a look at our calendar to for up to date activities and events.

make the most of it!

Beavers, Cubs and Scouts aren't just about the meetings every week. We organise events and activities and competitions with other groups throughout the year for you to take part in.
